United Methodist Women is a community of faith whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative and supportive fellowship, and to expand the concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. We welcome all women to come and see what we as United Methodist Women can do.
By our participation not only as a local unit but as a member of the Albemarle District and the Western North Carolina conference we have the power to change the lives of women and children all over the globe. Please join us and help make mission work possible. You do not have to be a member of Union United Methodist Church to join the UMW.
We meet the second Wednesday of every month in the Fellowship Hall at 7:30 pm. We have a short business meeting, fellowship over light refreshments and then have a short program given by one of the UMW women. We have a very active unit. We show the love of Christ through our participation in the United Methodist Women. As part of the Western NC Conference we have celebrated being number one in the nation in our giving. We have celebrated the 25th anniversary of the charter For Racial Justice. We have collected thousands of health kits, school kits and layette kits to share with people all around the world.
